Then determine which way you want to run the floor. That means when you are looking at the room do you want the flooring to run horizontal or vertical? Trying to run the flooring diagonally is a great look but you should only try it if you pretty handy and have a lot of patience because it will require a lot of miter cuts.
The length of the floor planks make a difference. For example, it is easier to put together shorter planks, and smaller planks cost less. They also don't twist or warp easily under temperature changes. But the draw back is that they don't look as nice when fitted together. Longer planks are harder to put together, and they usually cost a little more. They have a higher tendency to twist compared to short planks. But if you hire professionals to install the flooring for you, twisting can be avoided. When the project is complete, long straight flooring pieces of wood can create the most beautiful and dramatic effect.
The laminate timber flooring can be fixed by two different types of nail profiles called the top nails and the secret nail. The top nail profile involves the installation of nails from the top of the boards while the secret nail profile which provides a cleaner finishing involves the installation of nails through the tongues of the board.
It's not the same stuff your grandmother had on her kitchen floor. It's vibrant, dust-resistant, environmentally friendly, and will probably outlive the people who install it. What could be better than that?
